Commentary on 1 Timothy begun

For three or four years, I have been thinking about writing a commentary on 1 Timothy, so rich is that letter in teachings for evangelists, preachers and teachers, as well as the church in general, and began that task in December, 2014. The emphasis is on its “Relevance for Today.” The plan is not to comment on every single word or phrase but to explain and apply all instruction that relates to the church, and the churches, in present day settings. The content of the commentary is at www.editoriallapaz.org/1-Timoteo-comentario-contenido.html

“Understanding the Bible” is the first of a series of five lessons I have presented over and over through the years, in so many places on this island of Puerto Rico, in home Bible studies or for groups of interested people. For a long time, I used a blackboard. Then, graduated to an overhead projector. From there, the series continued to be improved in accordance with developing technologies. This first lesson is now on the Internet in the form of twelve, high resolution images available by means of a revolving carrousel of them. The smaller images of the carrousel are actually large enough to allow the viewer to see their content. By clicking on any one of them as the carrousel revolves, the Page of large, high resolution images is opened, with options such as “Save to memory,” “Copy” or “Print.” Instructions show how one can make his own Presentation in PowerPoint. Another option is to simply connect a digital projector to a computer and project the images directly from the Internet. Each image (slide) of the series is composed of multiple graphics, Bible texts, data and explanations. Available at www.editoriallapaz.org/leyes-testamentos-vigencia-carrusel.html

E-mails and Pertinent Notes

-Bogotá, Colombia. Dec. 25, 2014. “As I have made mention, we are studying Revelation [using the commentary prepared in Puerto Rico] on Saturdays, and are now in the fourth trumpet. It has been very enriching, especially since I had all the interpretations the denominations impart on the rapture of the church. Extremely valuable, since it [the commentary] has helped me to clarify many matters in that regard.” Johnny Montaño

-This man was a Pentecostal pastor, with a two-hundred member congregation, before he accepted sound doctrine several years ago. I have mentioned him several times in reports as one of the fruits of Internet evangelism, his conversion brought about, in part, by our editoriallapaz site.

-Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Dec. 26, 2014. “Thanks, brother, for putting in my hands all the armor of God for the good of the church and the ministry for which we are responsible.” Dulce Moreta

-Tapachula, Chiapas, México. Ave. 11 Sur Prolongación, Lote 2, Manzana 9, Fracción Nuevo Mundo, 3ra Etapa. Dec. 30, 2014. “I serve God as an evangelist, and believe you brethren con help me with your great experience. I want to learn other ways for preparation, and also learning chapters and verses of the Bible. First of all, I thank God and you for sending me this information, for I wish to learn more of the beautiful word of God, in order to make it known to my brethren, and anyone else who wishes to hear it. I am very excited and joyful to know this Web site.Jorge Suárez Rodríguez. Referer: "http://www.editoriallapaz.org/BM_Libro_completo.htm"

-The Referer points to the Content Page for “Good Ministers of Jesus Christ,” a work mentioned often in these reports. One of the best works on the site in my estimation. A ten-lesson course for the preparation of church leaders, especially candidates to be evangelists. Illustrated with several sets of slides available in the PowerPoint format. Among other materials recommended for Jorge is “How to plan, prepare and present sermons, Bible classes and conferences,” an extensive nine-lesson course. Jorge speaks of our “sending” him “Good Ministers…” We did: through the Internet site editoriallapaz! And the cost was so small as to be infinitesimal, whereas printing all that work and sending it by mail would have cost an estimated $45.00.
